BLAIRE

Sequoiah Blaire received her primary and secondary education at Denver School of the Arts, where she nurtured her craft as an actor for 7 years before attending Stanford University from which she graduated in 2022 as a Black Studies major. Over the course of her scholarship, Sequoiah has written and directed several two- act original plays, short films, and performed across classical and contemporary works.
She a member of the 2021 Hillman Grad Mentorship Lab acting cohort, a recipient of the Stanford University Chappell Lougee Grant and Lyric McHenry Arts Grant for my film works, and a 2023 Princess grace foundation honoraria in theatre. Sequoiah has performed at notable venues such as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center, and Stanford Repertory Theatre. She also worked in creative development at Sunhaus for 2 years where she focused on film and television projects across the diaspora.
Sequoiah is a multi-disciplinary artist, with experience in theatre, film, pole dance, and energy work. She approaches all of her art with the intention of fiercely activating human and earthly energy, making the unseen visible.

My Pole Journey
I began pole dance as a mode of connecting more deeply to myself, my body, and my art practice. This apparatus has taken me to new parts of the world and expanded my approach to each and every part of life. Pole is my muse.
